Obituary for Harriet J. Gannon (Smith)
Harriet (Smith) Gannon, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away Saturday December 20, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late James F. Gannon who died in 2010.
She was born in Lowell, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Josephine (Donahue) Smith. She was raised in the Highlands section of Lowell prior to moving to Chelmsford. She was a graduate of Lowell High School and the Bradshaw Business School.
Harriet was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time in the company of her family.
Harriet is survived by her loving children; Joan Corbett and her husband Jack , John Gannon and his wife Ginny, Karen Malley and her husband Michael, Mary Tozlowski , and Carol Baraldi and her husband Stephen. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; Ann and Caroline Corbett, Maura and Brian Gannon, Kevin and Peter Malley, Mark and Lauren Tozlowski, and Marie Baraldi and her husband Ralph Hua, Cara Baraldi and Stephen Baraldi, Jr., a great grandchild; Sawyer Baraldi Hua, her brother; Charles A. Smith and his wife Ann Harrington Smith, a sister in-law; Elizabeth A. Connolly and a large extended family.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd Chelmsford. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seattle NAMI, 802 Northwest 70th St. Seattle, WA 98117 or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, New England Chapter, 60 Walnut St. Wellesley, MA 02481.
