Obituary for Eleanor M Abbott (Drews)
CHELMSFORD – Eleanor M. (Drews) Abbott, 81, a longtime resident of Chelmsford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Boston on December 10, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Neville) Drews.
Eleanor was employed for many years as a Legislative Aide to the late, Senator Paul Tsongas and remained very active in politics with the Democratic Party as a political activist both locally and nationally. She loved animals, owned and rescued many throughout the years.
Eleanor is survived by her husband Jack Abbott of Chelmsford and daughters; Melinda Abbott of Westford, Deirdre Abbott Casey and her husband Jack of Los Angeles, CA, and Alyssa Abbott and her partner Sheryl Runge of Chelmsford.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.
Funeral Service and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the MSPCA Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
