Helen A  Riordan
CHELMSFORD – Helen A. (Golas) (Vacek) Riordan, 95, of Chelmsford, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Warren P. Riordan, Jr. who died in 2001.

She was born in Clinton, MA on June 15, 1920 and was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary (Nosek) Golas.

Helen, known affectionately as Babci, was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford and a former parishioner of St. Michael Parish in Lowell. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to Foxwoods and family vacations. Helen devoted her life to caring for her family and spending time in their company was everything to her. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff of “Sweetland Lane” and Dr. Philip Tavano for their compassionate care of their Mom.

Helen is survived by her four daughters; Elaine “Rita” Hajjar and her husband Richard of Chelmsford, Mary Riordan of Newton, NH, Barbara Riordan of Chelmsford, and Patricia Miller and her husband James of Poway, CA, five grandchildren; Tara Lydon and her husband John of Chelmsford, Richard Hajjar and his wife Lauren of Lowell, Kristen Hajjar of Bradford, Sean Miller and Megan Miller of Poway, CA, and four great-grandchildren; Sarah Ann Hajjar, Catherine Hajjar, Alexandra Lydon, and Rose Hajjar. She also leaves her sisters-in-law; Theresa Riordan of Chelmsford, Teresa Golas of Lowell, Geraldine Golas of Ashby, and Arleen Riordan of Kenneth City, FL, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Golas, William Golas, Walter Golas, Edward Golas, and Mary Lewandowski. She was also the wife of the late Charles Vacek.

Visiting hours Tuesday from 3 to 7 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 o’clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Rd., Tewksbury, MA.
