Daniel Richard Wirth
CHELMSFORD - Daniel Richard Wirth, 81, died peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Anne C. (Borrone) Wirth.
Dan was born on June 10, 1935 in Queens Village, New York. He was the son of the late Harold and Margaret (Corbett) Wirth.
Dan was owner/operator of CSP Contracting for over four decades in the Merrimack Valley. In his early years in New England, he was employed by Mosler Systems and designed/installed the pneumatic tubes at Rockingham Race Track. Prior to that, while living in New York City, he was a design engineer for Westinghouse Elevator.
In his free time, Dan enjoyed tinkering with his motorcycle and taking his extended family on boating and camping trips. He also enjoyed wood-working projects, and sitting on his porch listening to classical music. Dan had a great love for animals, especially dogs. Above all, he adored and loved spending time with his treasured family.
In addition to his wife, Dan is survived by his five children, Elizabeth Duffy and her husband Sean of Warren, VT; Daniel Wirth of Lincoln, NH; Catherine Lee and her husband Jay of Chelmsford; Christopher Wirth and his wife Kristina Cherniahivsky of Boston; and Jennifer Dempsey and her husband Niall of Galway, Ireland. Dan is also survived by his brother Harold Wirth of New York; his brother-in-law Peter Borrone and his wife Lucinda of Deerfield, NH; his grandchildren, Danny, Drew, and Anna Duffy; Christopher Adley and his wife Caitlyn; Connor, Hannah, and Breezie Adley; Adrian and Avery Wirth; and Gavin Dempsey, as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14th from 4pm to 8pm at Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford.
His Funeral service and interment will be held privately.
