Maureen J. (Dane) Perry, of Chelmsford, MA passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 8, 2017.

Maureen was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eva (Rose) Dane, beloved wife of the late Philip Perry and mother of the late Brian Perry.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela and her husband Michael Vaughn, her grandchildren, Kristin Vaughn and Erica Crosby, her husband Jeff, Maureen’s sister Constance Faber, her husband Bill, their daughter Cheryl and her son Tyler of Connecticut.

Maureen, a lifelong Chelmsford resident, graduated from Chelmsford High. She was the head nurse in the delivery room at Lowell General Hospital from 1954-1957 and then became the night supervisor from, 1957-1959. She was the Chelmsford High school nurse from 1969 to her retirement in 1995.

Her life’s passion was helping others. She founded and orchestrated the Santa Fund in 1970 while working as a nurse at Chelmsford High School. Her goal was to provide an outfit and toy to every needy child and she did. She helped thousands of children have a Merry Christmas.

She was inducted into the Chelmsford High Alumni Hall of Fame and was voted the first Grand Marshal of the Chelmsford Fourth of July Parade. Maureen was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was part of the Outreach Committee and Food Pantry. She enjoyed traveling with the Senior Center and doing jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, Maureen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters who were the light of her life.

Her favorite holiday, Christmas, was a time to spend with her family. Loved by all who knew her and those who lives she touched.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824 on Tuesday, February 14th at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Maureen's memory to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824.
