Obituary for Harvey D. Morris

Harvey D.  Morris
Harvey D. Morris, 87, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away on Friday February 24, 2017 following a period of declining health. He was the devoted husband to Geraldine A. (Bowie) Morris of Chelmsford who survives him.

Born in Boston on January 10, 1930, he was a son of the late James S. and Marie L. (Boudreau) Morris.
Harvey was in the United States armed forces having served in both the Army and Navy. He exemplified the word Patriot. Harvey was a sheet metal worker for more than 35 years in Local 17.

He loved spending summers with his family on Thompson Lake in Maine and his winters in Florida. He loved his annual trips to Las Vegas and his past time was reading and discussing politics. Harvey was a true New England sports enthusiast having a particular fondness for the Patriots. He was a good man and will be missed by all that had the honor of knowing him.

In addition to his wife, Gerry, he is survived by his children, Gary and Tracey Morris of Litchfield, NH, Kathy and Richard St. Jean of Tewksbury, Jill and David Centauro of Groton, and Brian and Amy Morris of Billerica; his siblings and their spouses, Charles Morris, Whitey Morris and his wife, Gloria, Beverly Merrill and her husband Russ, Gwen Morris; his sisters in law, Mary Morris, Helen Morris ,Linda Morris and Dolores Francoise; proud grandfather of Ryan, Timothy, Tiffany, Jay, Peter, Abigail, Katie, Sarah, Mark, Daniel & Meredith; loving great grandfather of 9; and is survived by many dear nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Stewart, Darrell and Courtney Morris.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 28, 2017 from 5 until 8 PM in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford.

His Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM.

Interment will follow with military honors in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
