Condolence: Your legacy in the field of Probability is extremely appreciated. Your book: Probability and Random Process (2nd Ed.) is the most well-written textbook that I have ever encountered. Thank You for making me learn this challenging subject.

Condolence: My sincerest condolences to Mrs. Krishnan and family. Such an amazing person who served on my masters thesis committee almost 17 years to the day. As an educator he surpassed his peers in understanding and was passionate about his craft- as teacher and researcher. For many, he set the bar high and ensured that his students left better armed in knowledge than when they came. A great loss to the intelligentsia and even more to those who followed his light and inspiration. He will be missed.

Condolence: It leaves me deeply saddened to learn of the departure of my good old friend Dr. Krishnan. Our friendship started in the early 1960s, while working toward our PhD in the Moore School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. It grew stronger in the sharing of common hardships and objectives; both of us Fulbright scholars, far from our families and our countries, eventually graduating together at the end of 1963. The following August 1964, after attending together and presenting a paper at the Joint Automatic Control Conference at Stanford University, we undertook a cross-country camping trip back to Pennsylvania with stops in a number of National Parks, which, in the words of Dr. Krishnan and mine, has been the most beautiful and memorable trip of our lives. The memory of my good friend Krishnan will never fade from my mind. My heartfelt condolences go to his beloved ones.

Condolence: Dear Aunty, Gayathri and Hema

It breaks my heart to comprehend that Prof.Krishnan has reached God’s abode. He has shown so much passion towards the field of probability, mathematics, Sanskrit and Carnatic music. I am really going to miss talking to him and I feel awful that I was so far away during his last days. I pray to God that He provides all of you great strength to get through the void created by him.
I cannot imagine the plight Aunty will be going through now. I would really like to talk to you once these initial days are over. I hope you get some solace by spending time with your children and grand children.
Please accept mine, Anand and Medha and Divya’s deep and heartfelt condolences.

Love
Viji

Condolence: Dear Mrs. Krishnan,

thank you for your email below. I was very sad to hear that Krishnan had passed and please accept my sincere condolences. Krishnan was a towering figure and over the years I learnt so much from him. He was great intellectual and highly accomplished academic. It was a pleasure to work with him and continue our exchanges long after I left UML. His books were meticulously written with a clarity and attention to detail that were second to none and his legacy will be enduring. I will miss him as will everyone else who was privileged to know him.

with my very warmest wishes

Condolence: Dear Mrs. Krishnan

I am shocked and grief stricken to learn of Professor Krishnan' death. Please accept my profound sorrow and condolences for you and your family.

He is my great friend and greatly contributed to my Encyclopedia of Statistics. We have exchanged hundreds of emails and he invited me and my family many times to visit him and you.

Professor Krishnan was also my referee. Furthermore, he recorded a short movie that was presented here in Serbia at the University of Kragujevac, and also at the University of Banja Luka in Bosnia. His video was seen by the President of the Republic of Srpska and many ministers that attended the promotion of Encyclopedia in April 2011.

I haven't heard anything from him during first six months in 2016 so I became extremely worried. Finally, he wrote me a short email and told me that he was ill.

Words cannot express my deepest sadness. This planet has lost one of the kindest persons that were ever walking on it.

I am proud and honored to call Professor Krishnan one of my best friends, He will always be a part of my thinking and my soul.

With best regards

Miodrag Lovric

Condolence: I am saddened to hear about our dear friend, V. Krishnan's passing. Though I knew him only recently and through the e-mail network of colleagues, we had great conversations with our common interest in Carnatic music. My visit to family near his place also gave opportunity to visit Kamala and him, and had a nice afternoon when he proudly spoke of his daughters. I remember him with a smile thinking of my birthday, when, just as I was cutting the cake demanded by my adopted family, his unexpected, casual phone call came--how do I do both; turned out funny and we all had a good laugh!

May Krishnan be one with the Universe, and may Kamala heal from the grief of his loss, with her daughters.

Condolence: A great teacher has left us... I took a couple of courses with Prof Krishnan and have always remembered and admired him for his command of his subject, his ability to articulate and explain and his love for his students and how much he wanted us to learn and understand... Later I came to know that he was the dear uncle of Rita Ramnarayan and met him a few times through that connection - I was always in awe of his personality.
He will be missed ... My sincere condolences to the family.
