Irene (Giragosian) Guregian, a resident of Chelmsford for over fifty years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27th in Lowell. She was 91 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late John H. Guregian who passed away in 1978.

Irene was born in Lowell, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Sarkisian) Giragosian. She was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1943. In October of 1957, Irene married her husband John. They settled in Chelmsford where they would raise their three children. Irene worked for a number of years for the Hathaway Shirt Company in Lowell and then for Liberty Mutual Insurance in Chelmsford. A devoted wife and mother, Irene cherished her time with her family more than anything. A woman of great faith, Irene was a dedicated member of Saints Vartanantz Armenian Church where she was a lifelong member of the choir. Irene will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Sadly, in addition to her husband, Irene was predeceased by her three sisters, Anne, Julia and Patricia.

Irene is lovingly survived by her three children, John Guregian and his wife Noreen of Haverhill, Karen Guregian and James Guregian, both of Chelmsford. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and a large loving extended family. Additionally, Irene leaves her longtime friend and caregiver, Bettina Gould.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, May 30th from 5:00-8:00pm in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME 24 Worthen Street CHELMSFORD.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 31st at 11:00am in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church, 180 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford.

Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene's name to Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church, 180 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford, MA 01824.
