Obituary for Wayne Allen King
Wayne Allen King, 80, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Sunday June 4, 2017 at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband to Joan B. (Whitcomb) King of Chelmsford with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Deerfield, NH on April 30, 1937, he was a son of the late Cecil Hill and Helen Childs-Frick (Tuttle) King.
Prior to his retirement in 2006, Wayne was employed as a retail lumber manager for the Builders Specialty Lumberyard in Bedford.
Wayne was an avid bowler and sports enthusiast. He was a Red Sox and Patriots fan at heart. Wayne was a natural fisherman, having spent countless hours on the water trout fishing in Deerfield, NH with family. For many years he enjoyed ballroom dancing with his bride.
In addition to his wife, he will be dearly missed by his children, Denise E. Law and her husband, Rick of Pepperell, MA; Mark A. King and his wife, Diane of Hudson, NH; Holly Wilkins and her husband, Philip of Ashburnham, MA; Gregory W. King and his wife, Shana of Sanford, ME; his grandchildren, Emily E. Socha and her husband, William of Auburn, NH, Rebecca A. Mayo and her husband, Garrett of Amherst, NH, Jessica R. Law of Townsend, MA, Heidi M. Giacobbe and her husband, Paul of Townsend, MA, Katie A. Wilkins of Keene, NH, Lindsay M. Wilkins and her fiancé, Corey Prescott of Townsend, MA, Thomas M. Wilkins and his wife, Mariah of Ashburnham, MA, Colin W. King of Boca Raton, Florida, Owen R. King of Boca Raton, Florida, Madison K. King of Boca Raton, Florida and Arwen J. King of Sanford, ME; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Evan and Ryan Socha, Hannah and Charlotte Mayo, and Mason Wilkins; his siblings, Judie Lees and her husband, William of Shrewsbury, MA; Donald King of Sebring, Florida; Sandra Noftle and her husband, John of Derry, NH; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday June 7, 2017 from 4 until 7 PM in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
