Edna Ann  Stacey (Sleeper)
Edna Ann (Sleeper) Stacey, 88, formerly of Hudson, NH, and Carlisle, MA, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Genesis Westford House Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late George H. McGrath who died in 2010 and the late Leslie R. Stacey, Jr. who died in 1994.

She was born in Arlington, MA on November 25, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Olie and Edna (Schoolcraft) Sleeper.

Edna was a retired L.P.N. having spent several years working at Sunnynook Nursing Home in Carlisle, MA and Thoreau Nursing Home in Concord, MA. After her nursing career, she served as the Food Service Manager and Chef Manager in charge of in plant feeding at Honeywell Radiation in Lexington, MA and Analog Devices in Norwood, MA. Edna lived a life of service to others outside of her nursing career as well. She had been a Worthy Advisor for the Concord Rainbow Girls, Past President of the Emblem Club in Chelmsford, MA and Laconia, NH, and Chairman of the Carlisle and Littleton Councils on Aging in MA. Edna was a past member of the Carlisle Congregational Church in Carlisle, MA and the Heritage Baptist Church in Nashua, NH and was a current member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Litchfield, NH.

Edna is survived by her four children; Susan M. Wellman and her husband Gordon of Litchfield, NH, Richard R. Stacey of Barrington, NH, Harold L. Stacey and his wife Sharon of Shirley, MA and Cynthia E. Gentry of Fort Worth, Texas, nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Carroll B. Sleeper, Robert I. Sleeper and Herbert F. Sleeper, Sr. all formerly of Carlisle, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD, MA. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 17th at 10 o'clock at the Carlisle Congregational Church, 147 School St., Carlisle, MA. Interment in Green Cemetery, Carlisle, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or by visiting cancer.org.
