Ruth I. Simonds (Menezes)
Ruth I. (Menezes) Simonds, 85, a longtime Chelmsford resident passed away peacefully on Friday September 8, 2017. She was the loving wife of Charles F. Simonds of Chelmsford with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

Born in Arlington, MA on April 11, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Manuel J. Menezes and Mary A. (Santos) Menezes.

Ruth spent her life caring for and raising her eleven children and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Patricia A. Whitfield and James of Courtland, VA, William R. Simonds of Chelmsford, MA, Carol J. Whisman and David of Walpole, MA, Lawrence J. Simonds and Donna of Tyngsboro, MA, Robert M. Simonds and Jennifer of Hudson, NH, Joseph P. Simonds and Erin of Litchfield, NH, Kevin M. Simonds of Plainville, MA, Joanne R. Sedlock and John of Pocasset, MA, Edward C. Simonds and Zelma of Chelmsford, MA, Daniel P. Simonds and Marcie of Pittsfield, MA; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Zani of Norton, MA, Ethel Doyle of Tewksbury, MA; sisters and brother in law, Helen Creedon of Arlington, MA, Marilyn Simonds of Arlington, MA, Janet Orcutt and Arthur of Peabody, MA; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Christine M. Simonds. She was also a sister of the late Alfred, Theresa, Hilda, Manuel, Mary, and Alice.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Tuesday September 12, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 25 North Road, CHELMSFORD. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
