Obituary for Alice Olsen Mann
PEPPERELL -Atty. Alice Olsen, 71, of Pepperell and formerly of Chelmsford and Newton, passed away on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at the Westford House after a period of declining health.
She was born on May 20, 1946 and was a daughter of the late William and Dorothy Olsen.
Alice practiced law in Boston for many years until illness forced her retirement.
Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. To family and friends she was a beacon of intelligence and strength with a wonderful smile. She was always there to offer help, advice, or just an ear. For her grandchildren she has been a confidant and a friend, her home a safe haven to escape to when they were troubled. Her impact upon their lives through her love and support is a gift they can carry forward into the years ahead.
Alice also left an indelible mark on the legal landscape. As head of the Appellate Department for Morrison, Mahoney & Miller, her unparalleled record of winning appeals before the state's highest court earned her the moniker "Super Mann" from the legal press. She worked tirelessly to preserve and clarify important legal principles, yet generously always made time to mentor and support her colleagues.
Alice is survived by her son; Jonathan D. Campbell and his wife April of Pepperell, three grandchildren; Kylen, Asher and Emmalyn, her brother Bill Olsen and his wife Trudy of MO, and nephews; Paul and Chris Olsen. She was also the aunt of the late J. T. Olsen.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
