Anne V.  Blake (Nicholson)
CHELMSFORD - Anne V. (Nicholson) Blake, 52, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Spaulding Hospital following a long and courageous battle with complications from cancer treatment. She was the beloved wife of John R. Blake, Jr. to whom she has been happily married for 24 years.

She was born in Worcester on July 7, 1964 and was a daughter of Rhoda T. (Owens) Nicholson of Paxton, MA and the late Donald T. Nicholson.

Anne was a graduate of Holy Name High School in Worcester. In 1986, she earned her B.A. in History from the College of the Holy Cross, and her Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School in 1991. Anne practiced law from 1992 to 1998, when she left to raise her son. In 2003 she began working in the Chelmsford School System as a substitute teacher in grades K-5. Anne began a new career in 2008 and worked as an ESL teacher for the next five years completing her Masters in Education Degree from Cambridge College in 2013. Anne was an active member of St. Mary Parish where she taught in the Religious Education Program until 2013. She enjoyed cooking, loved to read and was very fashion minded. She was a fitness enthusiast and enjoyed coaching soccer and baseball in Chelmsford.

In addition to her loving husband and her mother, Anne is survived by her son, John Owen Blake of Chelmsford, brother Donald T. Nicholson, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Lancaster, sister Jacqueline Cook and her husband Patrick of Lowell, and her in-laws Marieann and John R. Blake, Sr. of Northborough, her brothers and sisters-in-law: David and Leslie Blake of London, England, Ann Connelly of Northborough, Josh Blake of Worcester and Ian Blake of Shrewsbury. She also leaves her nieces and nephews; Benjamin, Joshua, Zachary, Andrew, Heather, Haleigh, Dylan, Ryan, Connor, Logan, and Riley.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment to follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
