I am saddened to hear about our dear friend, V. Krishnan's passing. Though I knew him only recently and through the e-mail network of colleagues, we had great conversations with our common interest in Carnatic music. My visit to family near his place also gave opportunity to visit Kamala and him, and had a nice afternoon when he proudly spoke of his daughters. I remember him with a smile thinking of my birthday, when, just as I was cutting the cake demanded by my adopted family, his unexpected, casual phone call came--how do I do both; turned out funny and we all had a good laugh! May Krishnan be one with the Universe, and may Kamala heal from the grief of his loss, with her daughters.
